The romance between Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Padalecki, nee Cortese, began on the set of the TV show Supernatural.
Cortese joined the cast as Ruby in the fourth season, replacing Kate Cassidy in a recurring role.
Padalecki proposed to Cortese in front of their favorite painting, Joan of Arc, by French realist Jules Bastien-Lepage at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in October 2009. Their engagement was announced in January 2010.
Their marriage ceremony took place in Cortese’s hometown, Sun Valley, Idaho, on February 27, 2010.
They have three children together; two sons and a daughter.
The couple revealed they were expecting their first child together on October 10, 2011. On March 19, 2012, their first child was born, and Thomas Colton Padalecki was chosen as his name.
Thomas Colton was joined by his younger brother, Austin Shepherd Padalecki, a year later, on December 22, 2013.
Four years later, the family grew by one. Odette Elliott Padalecki, their daughter, was born on March 17, 2017.
